Internet Marketing Tips - 3 Tips For Better Lists

Yeah, I know...the money is in the list. I'm so sick of hearing it myself that every time I do, I groan. The truth is, the money is ONLY in the list if you treat your list properly. If you treat them like dirt, well, that's pretty much all you're going to get out of them. This article is going to provide you with three solid tips for better lists. If you follow these three simple things, you'll have a list that is not only responsive, but one that will actually wait for you to send them offers. Think I'm kidding? Try these out and tell me I'm wrong.

Here's the first one, and this is something that so many will hesitate to do because they think they're going to lose money. That's the scarcity mindset in action and let me tell you from experience, it doesn't work. Ready for the big revelation? Here goes. Take one of your low end products, not a free report, but a low end product, and send it to your list as a free gift. That's right. Send them something that you sell for maybe $27 or so. Think they won't appreciate it? Try it out and see what kind of response you get. This is one of the best ways to build a strong relationship between you and your list.

The second tip is not to pound them day after day with some offer. The majority of your emails should be content that will actually help them with your business. Only occasionally should you send them an email with a sales pitch in it. And even then, the majority of THAT email should be information about some topic. People do not like to be sold to, and once you understand that, you'll be that much farther along to establishing a good relationship with your list. Don't hammer these poor people to death. It doesn't work.

Finally, make it easy for them to unsubscribe. I can't tell you how many emails I get from lists where they put a ton of white space in between the content of the email and the unsubscribe link. This really annoys people. Yes, I know, they're going to unsubscribe anyway, so what's the difference? The difference is that these people are going to go off to forums and talk about your cheesy list tactics and when word gets around that you engage in this practice, the number of people who even opt into your list is going to decrease significantly.

If you follow these three simple tips, give a free gift of value, don't hammer your list and don't bury the link to unsubscribe, you will find that you'll have a much more responsive list.
