Are your kids growing faster then their clothes are wearing out? Keeping up with the need for reasonable clothing that your kids will wear is a never ending struggle. But don't worry it will only get harder as they get older and pickier. Most of this will depend on your children's preferences as they get older.
When the Kids Are Young
This is by far the easiest age for clothes shopping, the will wear what ever you put on them. Most parents end up with way to many clothes and the kids grow so fast they very really grow out of them. Between baby showers, birthdays and holidays most parents end up with a lot of clothes that hardly get worn.
Shopping for the Kids as They Get older
As the children grow the shopping get more difficult. Brand names start to get recognized even as young as pre-school. Depending where in the country you live Name Brand clothes and shoes almost become a must as the kids get older.
You can find good resale clothing shop or thrift store sometimes that have good bargains and even sometimes new clothes, sometimes it's a good idea to take the kids with you to these shops so they can help pick their clothes out get them involved in the shopping.
Discourage them from wanting name brand as long as you can if they are not in your clothes budget. Make this a lesson on how to keep a budget or living within your means.
A great resource for clothes is Outlet stores and websites. When you have to give in to brand names Outlets are generally a better place to shop then Department Stores. But before you go to the Outlets be sure you know what regular prices are so you will be able to recognize a good price at the Outlet.
Shopping at the right time can make a difference to. If possible waiting for Holiday Sale's can be a good time to shop for deals on clothing. Its not always easy keeping your cost down for kid's clothes, So doing what you can is a valuable lesson for your kids on how to look nice and live with-in their means.
